Brief Bio: George Fechter, born in Oberroedern, France served in Napolean's Army in Egypt in the mid 1800s. He emigrated to Buffalo, NY with some of his brothers, Louis, Bernard, and Ferdinand. He left in 1885 and settled in Moorehead City, MN for a time where he owned a store. His son, William James was born there.  He left from there to Tacoma, WA where he operated a business.
